INK IMAGE Frequently Asked Questions

What makes INKIMAGE different? INKIMAGE brings it all together: Quality, Affordability, Environmental Responsibility, Great Customer Service! When it comes to ink and toner cartridges, we’ve got it all! |
What is a “compatible” cartridge? It’s an ink or toner cartridge that is not “brand-name”. Like when you buy a compatible part for you car or a generic medicine at the drug store. It works great, it just doesn’t have the “GM” or drug company sticker on it....or the sticker shock! The parts have been carefully checked and replaced and will perform to the same level as a brand-name cartridge. |
What is a “compatible” cartridge NOT? A compatible cartridge IS NOT simply a refilled cartridge where someone sticks an ink syringe in and fills it up or plugs a drilled hole after adding some toner. It also, of course, IS NOT an overpriced OEM cartridge. |
What is an OEM cartridge? OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. An OEM cartridge is a brand-name cartridge: a Brother cartridge for a Brother printer or an HP cartridge for an HP Fax machine. These companies make some wonderful products, but they plan on customers coming back to them to buy cartridges at inflated prices and that’s not so wonderful. |
Are compatible cartridges available for all printers? Not all, but most ink and laser printers and fax machines along with some small printers have compatibles available. There is typically a short time at the beginning of a cartridge type’s lifetime that compatibles are not available. If a compatible is not available for you machine, keep checking, it probably will be soon. |
Does INKIMAGE guarantee their cartridges? Yes, we guarantee satisfaction to 100% on all the cartridges we sell as long as no more than $50.00 (by weight) of the ink or toner has been used. Just call us or bring in a defective and we’ll replace it for you. |
Does INKIMAGE refill ink and toner cartridges? No, INKIMAGE uses a small number of high quality national vendors who remanufacture (not just re-fill) ink and toner cartridges. We use the best vendors to ensure crystal quality at a clearly affordable price. |
What is a drum? A drum, or imaging drum, is a separate unit with a separate product number used in addition to a toner cartridge in some laser machines. The image drum transfers the toner to the paper to form the images on the print/copy/fax. Usually the drum should be replaced every three toner cartridges or so. The indicator is poor quality including streaks or lines in the image when it’s time to replace the drum. |
Which printer brands do you carry? HP, Brother, Canon, Dell, Epson, Goestetner, Lanier, Imaginistics, Kivo, Konica/Minolta, Muratec, Okidata, Panasonic, Pitney Bowes, Ricoh, Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba, Lexmark, and Xerox to name a few. If your brand is not on this list, we may still be able to get it. Just give us a call or send us an email with the make and model of your machine: info@inkimagetoner.com |
How long have you been in business? INKIMAGE, formerly Caboodle Cartridge, has been in business in Lane County since 2007. |
Will using compatible cartridges void my warranty or ruin my printer? No and NO! Contrary to what some manufacturers claim, it is illegal to void a warranty based on a customer not using brand-name consumables (see the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act). INKIMAGE cartridges are manufactured to the highest quality standards. We are not a “refiller” or “drill and filler”. |
Does INKIMAGE really deliver to businesses FREE? Yes. INKIMAGE delivers to it’s business customer free of charge on orders of $50.00 or more. It’s part of “clearly affordable”! |
What do I do if I have a problem or question about my cartridge? In either event you can come into your local store or send us an email at: service@inkimagetoner.com |
Is using INKIMAGE environmentally responsible? Yes. We work with our suppliers and local recyclers to reuse or recycle cartridge components, keeping them out of the landfill. Drop off your empties next time you’re in our store or have us pick them up when we deliver to your business. |
